Mr. Church graduated with a Bachelor of Law Degree in 1965 from the University of Alberta. He was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1966 and has been a Partner with the firm of Beaumont Church, Barrister & Solicitors since 1967. He has been a long time member and is past-President of the Calgary Estate Planning Council.

Mr. Church is an active member of the ranching industry. He has been President of the Canadian Simmental Association and of the Alberta Cattle Breeders Association and is a former Director of the Canadian Cattlemen’s Association.

Mr. Church was a former member of the Alberta Regional Board of the Nature Conservancy of Canada.
